- They are in seven european countries including: France, Italy, Switzerland and Austria.
- The highest mountain in the Alps is Mont Blanc located in France and Italy.
Scandinavian Mountains - Montes Escandinavos
- They are on a peninsula in the north of Europe.
- They are one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world.
- They form a natural border between Norway and Sweden.
Pyrenees - Los Pirineos
- They stretch from the Mediterranean Sea in the east to the Atlantic Ocean in the west.
- They form a natural border between Spain and France.
- The highest peak is Pico de Aneto in Aragon, Spain.
Carpathian Mountains - Montes Cárpatos
- They begin in the Danube which separates them from the Alps.
- They are in Central Europe.
- They curve along the borders of Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Ukraine, Austria, Serbia, and northern Hungary.

- They are in Italy.
- The highest mountain is Corno Grande
- They have three main parts: the Northern Apennines, the Central Apennines and the Southern Apennines.

- The river is often frozen for several months of the year.

- It flows from the Black Forest in Germany to the Black Sea.
- The Danube flows through or flows along the borders of 10 countries.

- It is still a major European transport route today.
- The Rhine forms a natural border between Germany and France.

- The longest river in Italy is the Po.
